Our Foundation & Philosophy

M&K was founded when Kali and Mecha met while working at a barn! It all started with a shared passion for improving horsemanship, lesson programs, and the overall care and well-being of horses. What began as conversations between two dedicated horsewomen quickly grew into a partnership built on common values, strong work ethic, and a vision for creating a better experience for both riders and horses alike.

At M&K, Kali and Mecha believe that true horsemanship starts long before you step into the saddle. From groundwork and horse care to confidence, communication, and respect, every moment spent with a horse contributes to building a stronger, safer, and more knowledgeable rider. Their philosophy centers around creating well-rounded equestrians who understand not only how to ride, but how to connect with and care for their horses both in and out of the arena.

Kali, M&K’s Head Coach, brings an incredible passion for teaching and developing riders of all ages and levels. She thrives on helping students build confidence, improve their skills, and reach personal goals in a supportive and encouraging environment. Her patient coaching style and dedication to her riders create a positive atmosphere where learning and growth can flourish.

Mecha, M&K’s Head Trainer, has a deep love for training horses and helping them develop into confident, capable partners. With a strong focus on proper foundations, communication, and individualized care, she is dedicated to bringing out the best in every horse she works with. Her commitment to thoughtful training and horse welfare is part of the heart of M&K’s program.

Together, Kali and Mecha have built M&K around the idea that great horsemanship is about far more than riding alone — it’s about partnership, education, and creating an environment where both horses and riders can succeed.
